Servicing of a Yamaha MT-07 in Pistonbook: yearly services, chain kit and inspection, grouped by year with their price

In shortLog every service with its invoice. Pistonbook reminds you before the next oil change, by date or by mileage, and the reminder resets itself once the job is done.

Your whole history, in one place

  • Every job: at the garage or in your own driveway, each visit has its place
  • The invoice attached: take a photo, and the service fills itself in (invoice scanning)
  • Ready to sell: a PDF service history to send to the buyer
Service reminders of a Peugeot 308: brake fluid overdue, insurance renewal very urgent, oil change urgent, then inspection, timing belt and cabin filter
Mileage

How far you drive, at a glance

  • Today's odometer: estimated if you forget to log it, so reminders stay on time
  • Total or since purchase: the vehicle's whole life, or only your miles
  • The monthly average: a fill-up or a service is enough to move the curve forward
FAQ

Servicing and mileage

How do I stop forgetting my car's oil change?

Add an "Oil change" reminder at the date or mileage set by the manufacturer (often once a year or every 6,000 to 20,000 miles depending on the engine). Pistonbook estimates today's mileage from your readings and warns you before it is due. When you log the oil change, tick the reminder and it starts again.

Can a reminder use both a date and a mileage?

Yes. The reminder fires at whichever comes first, as most manufacturer schedules recommend (for example 1 year or 10,000 miles).

Does Pistonbook replace the paper service book?

It complements it: each job is dated, priced and tied to the mileage, with its scanned invoice, and a PDF service history can be shared when you sell. Keep the original invoices too, they remain the strongest proof for a buyer.

Do I have to type everything in?

No. Scanning an invoice pre-fills the service, and importing from Fuelio, LubeLogger or a CSV file brings in an existing history. Nothing is mandatory.

Why is the mileage shown as "estimated"?

Because your last reading is more than 30 days old. Pistonbook then extends the curve at the pace of your last 12 months so reminders land at the right time. Enter the odometer to replace the estimate with the exact figure.
