Delete your Pistonbook account
Android app "Pistonbook" (ID fr.debirumans.pistonbook), developed by D3B1RUM4N. This page is a translation, the French version prevails.
In shortThe account is optional. When you ask for it to be deleted, your devices are signed out straight away, and the account is erased from the server 30 days later, with your email address and your online backup. Until then, you can change your mind by signing in again. Your logbook stays on your phone.
From the app
- Open Pistonbook, then tap the Account tab at the bottom of the screen (or Settings → Backup and data → Account).
- Tap "Delete account".
- Enter your password to confirm.
An email confirms the request, with the deletion date.
Forgot your password? On the same screen, "Sign in" then "Forgot password?" sends you a code by email to choose a new one.
During the 30 days
- Your phones and the web version are signed out of the account, and the online backup no longer receives anything.
- The account no longer opens normally. If you sign in again with your email and password, the app asks whether to cancel the deletion: accept to keep the account and its backup, as before.
- Your email address stays reserved: nobody can create an account with it.
On the day, the account and its online backup are erased, and a last email confirms it.
Without the app
If you no longer have your phone, write to contact@debirumans.fr from the account's address, asking for it to be deleted. The account and its online backup are deleted within 30 days, and a reply confirms it.
What is deleted
- Your email address and its link to your online backup.
- The encrypted online backup and all its versions.
- Your phones' sessions, your beta tester status and your VIP status.
After the 30 days, nothing is kept, no archive and no copy: deletion is final. Your logbook data stays only on your phone, as long as you do not uninstall the app. The daily safety copies of the accounts database, made to recover from a failure, are replaced over time.
